The Moral Nature Of Freedom

The concept of Rousseau’s moral freedom is not the accidental situation, it not onlyoriginated from the philosophy of ancient Greece, but also came from the idea of freedom, hecriticted against the modern enlightenment thinkers ideas. Aristotle’s moral freedom is thetheoretical origin of Rousseau’s moral freedom, on the basis of theory of Aristotle, Rousseaudeveloped his own moral freedom. Hobbes and Rock as the representatives of Modernliberalism, they have two different directions, Hobbes advocated to realize freedom with astrong Levitan, and Rock claimed the sovereignty of the people, the people are the masters ofthe country. But their freedom only emphasized the social state of freedom, namely the peopleto establish the nature of government, and not to consider the connotation of freedom fromone’s own emotion, moral attribute is missing in freedom. Natural freedom is the initial stateof freedom, is a savage in the natural state of freedom, social freedom is the political freedom,moral freedom is the freedom of a higher level of freedom, is the true freedom.In society, state and law are established with the public opinions, it has absoluteauthority, people must obey, obey it is obedience to his will, those who don’t obey,we will"forced free ", this kind of"force free" may be some politicians (such as Robespierre andHitler) as a legal basis for the authoritarian, obviously this is not reasonable. Rousseau did notstay in social freedom, and give the moral freedom, he not only pays attention to the socialfreedom, but pay more attention to people’s inner natural emotion,he emphasizes that peopleshould get rid of desires, have free will and good motives, and consistent with the good willao that obey the law and under the guidance of will. The state setde up should be a moral andcollective Republic, here, when people use the freedom to choose, they obey their nature(conscience) guidance, control their conscious behavior without desires, thus make their actsof virtue, comply with the public consciousness, obey the law, this is the moral freedom, thisfreedom make the people to become masters of their own, this is the real freedom, theirkingdom is the best kingdom.
