During the early cold war,to avoid the collapse of the economy of Western Europe and sure that political stability,avoid the consideration of the comprehensive expansion of communism in Europe,the United States through the Marshall plan provides a sizable,long–term economic and military aid to the western capitalist countries. At the same time,for reasons of institutional confrontation of the cold war,has important strategic value,those who did not enter the western alliance system of less developed countries are the United States economic or military aid. Pursues nonaligned India of neutral foreign policy has become a highly research value alone.The texts based on the existing theoretical research results at home and abroad as a research starting point,the latest diplomatic Documents set in the United States and related foreign declassified files for the historical data sources,research from the perspective of international relations and foreign policy of the United States to India economic and foreign policy,and on this basis to recognize Eisenhower basic situation and characteristics of the U.S. government aid to India.In the first chapter analyses the origin of diplomatic relations with the United States and India. And simple analysis of India’s position before and after the second world war and the cold war’s impact on the U.S.–India relations.The second chapter is major study the U.S aid policy adjustment and performance to India on the two-term presidency of Eisenhower. And the third part makes summarize in total.The third chapter is mainly research American government during Eisenhower have impact on Indian economic and foreign policy. On this basis, analyzed the feature of Indian economic and foreign policy.
