In order to meet the needs of city anti-terrorism combat, our army developed a new type of smart training range. The smart training range using sound, optical, video, special effects, robotics and other optical and electrical technology to simulate real street fighting scene, raising the city’s street fighting combat power of soldiers. The range’s maintenance and operation is inconvenient, because there are many equipment in the smart range, equipment are various and varying degree of automation, and the geographically remote. In order to unified monitoring the range, this paper designed a smart range monitoring system based on SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol).From the point of the application of SNMP technology, this paper studies the key technologies of smart range monitor system based on SNMP, and mainly completed the system software agents, the design of the server software and the remote access client software. The main contents involved are as follows:1. On a thorough research on the simple network management protocol and in-depth analysis of the smart range monitoring system requirements, completed the design of structure and function modules of the system.2. Designed the MIB file of smart range, provided the method of analyzing MIB file, programmed the agent software based of Windows platform and Android platform used by Apache open source project SNMP4 J, and designed the data interface between the Agent and the sub control system.3. Designed the data interface between the server and Agent, written server’s and client’s software, and gave the presentation face of remote demo.4. The correlation algorithm of smart range monitoring system are described and with emphasis studied on the link layer discovery protocol.5. Analyzed the resource occupation and network traffic the smart range monitoring system has used, gave a detailed test environment, described the resource occupation and network traffic of agent, server and remote in details, the result proves the system will not affect the normal operation of the original system of shooting range, and the resource consumption are within the acceptable range.6. Joining the control system into the smart monitoring system of range, the result shows that the system can run normally, meet the requirements.Technical innovation of this paper is as follows:1. Study a complex system which is a mix of sensor networks, information networks and control networks. The system achieved the unified management of smart range equipment, reduced the range of maintenance difficulty, improved equipment utilization, reduced costs, and improved the management level of combat equipment.2. The system achieved a big real-time operational data collection. It’s important for the evaluation of training effectiveness and the improvement of training method.
