The Economic Analysis Of Ezhou’s Urban And Rural Public Service Equalization Mode

Since the reform and opening up to outside world for more than30years, our urbanand rural residents’income has been gradually growing. However, the income gap betweenurban and rural residents still exists.Then take health care, basic education, social securityand other public services into account, the income gap between urban and rural residentsbecome greater. Recent years,how to achieve the equalization of public services in urbanand rural areas has aroused widespread concern in domestic scholars.Ezhou,as a pilot reform of urban-rural integration in Hubei province, in an effort tonarrow the income gap between urban and rural residents and improve the living standardsof rural residents,today Ezhou has been basically achieved equalization of urban and ruralpublic services, it has guaranteed urban and rural residents have the same opportunities foraccess to public services. This paper summarizes the existing equalization mode, figuresout that the Ezhou urban and rural public service equalization mode and then analysis thismode in economic way. As low level of economic development, market and socialorganizations double failure, the government and social organizations with the marketinformation asymmetry, the existence of monopolies and long-term dual economicsystem，currently Ezhou is government-led, low levels of public service equalizationmode.Finally comparison of the eastern city of Wenzhou, the western city of Chengduurban and rural public service equalization mode, summed up the status and value ofEzhou mode, noting Ezhou urban and rural public service equalization model’sinadequacies,then put forward effective proposals to Ezhou urban and rural public serviceequalization mode’s future development.
