Because of the oil spilling accident appearing frequently, the study of the range ofcompensation for marine oil pollution, especially the pure economic loss caused bymarine oil pollution becomes more and more important. The paper is based on theexisting research of pure economic loss, it contacts regulation of marine oil pollutiondamage and related cases in the judicial practice experiences,combined with the actualsituation of our country,putting forwards the suggestion of the compensation of pureeconomic loss in marine oil pollution: pure economic loss in marine oil pollution ismainly caused by damage of public resources, it is appropriate to apply mixed mode forthe type of pure economic damage in marine oil pollution in China, it will include pureeconomic loss in tort liability law article2, the principle of compensation of pureeconomic damage in marine oil pollution is determined by this way, and then it willlimit pure economic loss compensation by judicial interpretation.
