Research On The Rural Widowed Senior Citizens’ Old-age Security

Since the implementation of China’s family planning policy for thirty years,which speed up the process of the aging of the population. Especially, our countryunder the condition what is economic underdevelopment and “age before it gets rich”.China has also completed the transition to an aging society. According to the sixthnational population census data show that the number of agricultural populationaccounted for72.96%of the total population，and almost70%of aged people live inthe rural area, the problem of retirement is more prominent in rural area than in urbanarea. The arrival of an aging society triggers huge challenges for our old-age security,medical care. etc. Improvement of the rural pension system depends largely onwhether the widowed old men in rural old-age security problems can be solved.As the research on the widowed senior citizens in the rural are few, let alone thewidowed old men. Therefore, to explore the problem of old age security of thewindowed old men in rural areas is inevitable requirement to solve the problem ofaging population.At present, there are multiple forms of rural security system, which include notonly traditional land retirement support system and family retirement support system,but also community retirement support system. but generally speaking,，there is nounified mode in the whole country. However, the function of the family retirementsystem is restricted more and more because of the birth control policy and householdsize miniaturization. The land system is weakened. Therefore, exploring the widowedold men in the rural whose pension model is the important basis to solve the problemof china old-age security.In this study, we make the widowed old men in rural area as the research object.According to the data of sixth census and the widowed old men interview in Ruichangcity, Use of qualitative and quantitative research methods. To explore the reason forthe widowed old men security issues, as well as issues arising.In order to solve theproblem and give some suggestion.
