The Problems Of Electoral System Of National People’s Congress In China And Its Improvement

With the form of democratic system, electoral system comes into being, whichconstitute an important part of political system. Perfect electoral system premises ongood operation of democratic system. Therefore, improving electoral system hasalready become a focus of all countries’ political development. In1953, when Chinawas in the early stage of founding, the first Electoral Law was enacted, which marksthe formal establishment of electoral system of National People’s Congress in China.After sixty—one years of development, the electoral system of National People’sCongress in China shows its strong vitality and charm. However, with the rapid ofpolitical, economic and cultural development and increasingly diversified ofeconomic interests, people’s democratic consciousness grew, which lead to higherrequirement of the electoral system of National People’s Congress in China, theproblems of electoral system of National People’s Congress in China are increasinglyexposed.The thesis is guided by the Marxist methodology and adheres to the dialecticalmaterialism. In the first part, by analyzing the meanings of election and the electoralsystem, I briefly expound the meaning of electoral system of National People’sCongress in China and analyze its features in detail, I also introduce the developmentof electoral system of National People’s Congress in China since Electoral Law wasenacted in1953. In the second part, I analyze main problems of current electoralsystem of National People’s Congress in China, combining with related factors ofpolitical, economic and social environment in China, I analyze its negative influenceson electoral system of National People’s Congress in China, which lead to its variousproblems. In the third part, in view of main problems of electoral system of NationalPeople’s Congress in China and China’s national conditions, I put forward suggestionsof how to improve electoral system of National People’s Congress in China.
