Political participation is an important content of modern democratic politics, citizenparticipation in state affairs, an important way to influence government policy.In china, thecitizen’s political participation is an Important content for China’s socialist democratic politicsconstruction.It can fully reflect the nature of the state people take leadership and can promotethe construction of China’s socialist democratic political system smoothly.With thedevelopment of society, political and cultural quality continues to improve,the politicalparticipation of citizens to demand increased, enthusiasm of the political participation isincreasing, but the system of political participation in our country is not perfectcurrently.There are many disorderly phenomena in the process of the citizen politicalparticipation.It needs to improve and perfect China’s political participation system.Ethnic minorities is an important part of our country.The political participation ofMinorities play a decisive role in the political life of the nation.The influence of the politicalparticipation in political development of our country and the political stability is veryprofound.However, in the real political life, political participation of ethnic minorities massesin China has many problems.Participation and the level of the political capacity need to beincreased.In view of this phenomenon, the author makes a survey on his hometown theGuolebuyi Toksun County of Xinjiang Township,and thinking.This paper is divided into four parts: the first part is mainly to define the concept ofpolitical participation and expounded on China’s ethnic policies.The second part of thequestionnaire reflected, summarizes the Toksun county social status and the status of politicalparticipation. The third part the author finds out the problems of political participation ofminorities in this region and analysis the problem.Main problems are, non institutionalpolitical participation exists between political participation,members of ethnic minorities arenot balanced, political participation channel is single,unordered political participation maycause the instability of politics, political participation enthusiasm is not high.Main reasons forthese problems are political system is not perfect, the level of economic development in theregion is relatively low, the political participation by the influence of religious factors etc..The fourth part according to the Toksun county political participation’s problem and putforward corresponding countermeasures.This paper put forward the countermeasures from theimprovement of minority political participation system and relevant laws, strengthen theculture quality of the members of ethnic minorities, the cultivation of the consciousness ofcitizen political participation,accelerate the economic development of the region and soon,trying to improve the situation of political participation of minorities in the region,topromote the development of democratic politics in Ethnic minority areas of china.
