The Hong Kong National Education Research Under The Cultural Identity Horizon

The cultural identity concerns the national security, the Hong Kong culture approval question concerns the economy development of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and the reunification of the motherland.Hong Kong has been influenced by the Confucianist culture and the culture of South of the Five Ridges,especially the Cantonese culture,for a long time.At the same time,Hong Kong has been influenced by western culture deeply because of the hundred years’colonial rule,the international free port status place,and the geographical position that Hong Kong is at the forefront of the economical globalization.All of the above make the people of Hong Kong have no ideas about the mainland political and economic system,even more,they make it difficult to the people of Hong Kong to approve the identity of "Chinese".So it is important to carry out the national education in Hong Kong.However,there are many argues around the "Moral and National Education" since Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government enacted it in2012. A few people in Hong Kong against that connecting the national education with the " Moral and National Education",and then launched the campaign which was called "against the Moral and National Education".The campaign is not only because of the accumulated problems in the process of national education in Hong Kong,but because of the negative effect from the conception of " Citizens of the world" in the colonial education. It must be admitted that,"against the Moral and National Education" campaign exposed the insufficient works that the Hong Kong Government takes to clarify the misunderstand.On the other hand,it instructions that the setting of "the Moral and National Education" has the room for improvement,and the system of Hong Kong national education has not been completely.For this reason,it is necessary to draw lessons from other countries and regions of the world to perfect the system of Hong Kong national education.Reference the experience of Macao,the United States,France,and Singapore,Hong Kong national education can be improved from the following aspects:First of all,it is imperative that the Hong Kong SAR Government should improve the curriculum and promotion mechanism of the "Moral and National Education",make the students, teachers and parents to play a more important role in the process of national education.In the second place,the Hong Kong SAR Government should perfect the system of Hong Kong national education,including the relevant laws and regulations system,and the social education mechanism.In addition,introducing the private education institutions and social organizations in the national education.At last,the Hong Kong SAR Government should pay attention to public opinion guide,clarifying the misunderstands of the national education as soon as possible,and paying special attention to the foreign values and the foreign media.
