With the cultural and economic integration being the main trends in thecontemporary world economic and cultural development, culture has become animportant factor of productivity, and also an indispensable component of theproductivity system. Therefore, the development of cultural industries is a majorstrategic issue in the future economic and social development. China is rich intraditional cultural resources. After the developing and the forming of industrial scale,traditional culture can achieve socio-cultural and economic value at the same time, andalso can make the cohesion of traditional culture more focused. For this reason, localgovernments have taken a series of measures to promote the industrial development oftraditional culture. However, the traditional cultural industry development of manyplaces is not ideal in practice. There are several problems when the governmentsdevelop traditional cultural industries, such as conscious bias, behavior alienation, andunclear role locating. Therefore, the role of government can not be effectively played.On the based of deep thinking of inadequate government role playing in theindustrialization of traditional culture and theoretical basis of the industrial developmenttheory and government function theory, the study analysis the necessity, feasibility,accurate positioning, problems and causes of the government role and tries to proposesome effective countermeasures to solve these problems combined with China’s actualsituation. This study can be a reference to the other places in our country.
