Research On College Student Volunteers’Rights And Interests Protection

Volunteering is a noble and great cause.It is an important manifestation of social responsibility of the state and an important symbol of modern civilization and social progress. It has been recognized and attached great attention around the world.In China, voluntary service is in a period of development and the volunteers are in the expanding. Specifically,more and more college students have been involved in voluntary service. Whether in large-scale events, disaster relief, or helping the poor, environmental protection we can always see college students. They are generally organized by the school or voluntary participation. They are shining and play an active role in various voluntary service.In China,voluntary service is in development,but also facing many problems. Volunteers’rights and interests are not effectively protected. This article focuses on the groups of student volunteers’rights and interests protection.The writer use stratified sampling method survey the college students in Jinan City as first-hand information. The status quo of college student volunteers’rights and interests protection, causes, features and influencing factors are described in this article, and finally on the basis of China’s reality some countermeasures are proposed.Volunteers’rights and interests are composed of rights and interests. Rights include the free of participate or withdraw from the voluntary service, the right to kown information,the protection of personal property, training, and oversight powers, such as the right to request to resolve the difficulties.Interests include obtain appropriate subsidies and reward and the right of disclaimer infringement. Unpaid volunteers to contribute to society, their legitimate interests should be protected by society, but the reality of the situation is not optimistic. Due to the lack of legal protection, the low degree of social awareness, the imperfect development of voluntary service organizations and the lack of volunteers’awareness of protection their own,infringement have occurred.There is no law to help volunteers safeguard their rights,and their personal safety safeguard is ineffective, inadequate training, hard to get to meet the reasonable demands and college students has a strong randomness in participating in volunteer service which are seriously affected the development of the enthusiasm of volunteers and voluntary service cause. Solving the problem need society,schools,voluntary service organizations and college students to work together. Governments need to strengthen legislation and improve the system to provide basic protection for the development of voluntary service; volunteer service organization should compliance with laws and polices,and take the rights of volunteers as a top priority; corporationa should take social responsibility to provide financial support for the voluntary service, and establish a good image; schools should strengthen ideological and moral education to promote the normalization of volunteer service; college students should strengthen awareness of their legal rights and maintain a more positive attitude to plunge into the volunteer service, and make unremitting efforts to promote the prosperity and development of Chinese voluntary service cause.
