Criminal profiling is the principle, application of criminal psychology of appliedstatistics research data, with painting experience and technology, carries on theanalysis to the scene of the crime that the traces of criminal evidence, and otherrelated details, depict the unspecified crimes psychological characteristics ofpersonality and behavior characteristics of human, depict the crime the behavior ofhuman sex, age, occupation, body, family and social relations, so as to narrow or evendetermine a method and technology detection range.The academic and crime psychology in our country criminal investigation, due tovarious departments and agencies practice organization is not enough, even if thereare some investigators in piecemeal learning and application of criminal profilingtechnology, but only for the individual instinct and consciousness without continuityand systematic, many people have not recognized the importance of criminalpsychology picture. In this paper, in order to explore a long-term development road incrime psychology in China portrait of theoretical research and practice, is divided intofour parts.The first part is the basic theory expounded briefly criminal profiling, based onthe current mainstream academic view of the above analysis, summed up the conceptof criminal profiling, clarify the relationship between it and the criminal psychology,criminal psychological trace, clear criminal profiling has strict theoretical basis as abackup support.The second part discusses in detail the two logical methods of criminal profiling,respectively expounds the features of inductive criminal profiling and deductivecriminal profiling respectively, and analyzes its value and significance.The third part discusses the basic conditions of application of criminal profilingin investigation, and analyzes two kinds of representative operation method is derivedfrom the inductive and deductive logic method in the practice of investigation. The fourth part with the judicial practice in our country, points out that thecriminal profiling in the present investigation application in China’s shortcomings,discussed our country in the future developing direction of the field of criminal justice,it is recommended to further strengthen the study of basic theory and research, theestablishment of national criminal intelligence data information system, set up aspecial criminal profiling Association, professional training of criminal profilingtechnical personnel and construction of psychological assessment and crimeprevention and control system and other measures.
