A Study Of “Short Literature” In “Micro-Era”

As the world enters time of high speed, and “micro-era” great changes have taken place in people’s life in the 21 st century. With the acceleration of life space and flow of mass information,more and more people tend to get information in a simple, intuitionistic and fractional way, and a new literature genre has emerged.With the rapid development of media, different literary forms come into being in fragment and micro-miniaturization, such as hint fiction,Three quotations books and newly-style discourse. As a result,the“Short Literature”can not but emerge with the mature of post-modern literature and its spread through new media. In this thesis, the author,based on social circumstance, mainly makes a study of the “Short Literature”by analyzing some examples to find out its features 。Last but not the least, the author makes an objectively criticism from the perspective of literature, and then takes a prediction on its future.The purpose of the author is to sort out the newly-born literary form and find out its features, make a study of its values and significance and provide a perspective and simultaneous observation from the perspective.The thesis contains s five parts.The objectives,status, methodologies and values of study are discussed in the first part(general introduction), especially the definition of the two key words “short literature” and”micro-era”.The background of the “micro-era” and the emergence of “ short literature” are stated. There are four quarters in Chapter one. The complex semantic of the “micro-era” is discussed in the first quarter. Besides the way of communication, “Micro-era” has other meanings such as politics, economy,culture, life and thinking. In “micro-era”, the genre of literature will change a lot. In the second quarter, the media environment and the phenomenon of “short literature” are stated. It is the development of the media that brings the flourish of “short literature. The emergence of Twitter and microblog has offered great opportunity to the “short-literature”; the development of cellphones turns to be the beginning of the “short literature”; the integrity of medias have provided vast space for it. In the third quarter, the phenomenon of the “short literature is discussed in details. “hint fiction” appeared first as the “short literature” text, followed by other “short literature” texts. In the fourth quarter, the aesthetic acceptance of “short literature” works are discussed.In Chapter two, the reality of literature of the “short literature” is studied. First, the classification of the “short literature” is stated,and then its feature. The “ short literature” is characterized by postmodernism, diversification, randomness, popularization, and tradition in destruction. However it differs from post-modernism literature in tradition. The “opposition” of the “short literature” is mild, and not as radical as the post-modernism literature in dealing with traditional manifestation. It does not spurn the “ultimate meaning”, nor does it exclude “identity” and “rationality”, and “foundation” and “center”. The sign of traditional literature can be found in many “short literature” works. In this part, the new characteristics of the “short literature” endowed by the “micro-era” which is the core content are to be discussed on the basis of post-modern theory.The literary criticism on the “short literature” is given in Chapter three. On one hand, its advancement and significance are discussed, for it is the outgrowth of the “micro-era”, whose form, contents and the way of communication play a role of complementary and enlightenment in the development of literature, on the other hand, its commercialization, excessive entertainment, and vulgarization should be paid attention to.The prediction and expectation are shown in the conclusion.
