Study On Miao Batik Patterns Art

Miao batik culture has a long history, while the Miao people use batik writing their history instead of words. With the change of regional distribution, the narrative way of Miao batik patterns also have their own characteristics. The Miao batik in Guizhou Danzhai still retaining the ancient patterns and the traditional process, it is valuable for researching of Miao batik patterns. It is necessary to have a comprehensive and systematic investigation and analysis for the cultural connotation and creative elements of process flow and ancient patterns of Danzhai batik to integrate Danzhai Miao batik better into people’s modern life.This paper, via the field investigation and relevant literature, generalized the history of Miao, the origin and pattern formation of Miao batik and batik in Miao-populated areas, then analyzed Guizhou Danzhai Miao batik’s history,geography, cultural environment and production process from the surface to the point,and classified Danzhai batik patterns according to the theme as animal patterns, plant patterns and geometric patterns, then revealed Danzhai batik patterns inherent historical and cultural connotation through Miao batik painting decorative features and totem worship. There are two key points in this paper. One is using elements, form,the principle of beauty and aesthetic analysis methods of aesthetic features to deeply interpreted the form beauty of batik patterns, the analyzing the connotation and aesthetic value of Danzhai batik patterns.The other point is exploring how to inherit Danzhai Miao Batik art, and how to enlighten and apply batik patterns on modern design, then in practice using Danzhai batik patterns in the network.
