Literature stands by "image", as the starting point of category, it has bent over backwards to explore Chinese ancient literature theory. "Image" category is the total category of Chinese ancient literature theory, which covers a wealth of content and meaning. In macro perspective, "image" roses from the physical to the philosophy and eventually turns to poetic and aesthetics, thus controlling cover a very wide area; In micro perspective, "image" is a dynamic mechanism of constantly enrich, supplement and improve, involving a large number of subcategories, germinal and proposition to expand.Only on the basis of clarifying its complex relationship, select the appropriate angle for interpretation, can we comprehensively understand and grasp the "image" category of rich system.Literature generally refers to four elements,namely the universe, author, text and viewer, and the development of literary theory in the "image" category will naturally evolve in these different elements and levels of performance in a specific style. In view of this, this paper in order to explore the development and evolution of "image", we should try to put "image" into philosophy, literary theory and aesthetics three blocks to review as a comprehensive one, explore the development roots of "image" by ontology,and continue sort out its aesthetic contents between the creation and criticism theory by a series of sub-category and proposition,so that outline a rich and full of vitality theoretical system for "image" category.The thesis consists of introduction,body and conclusion three sections, the introduction highlights the current status of research about the "image" category and shortcomings.This article has sorted the related concepts and propositionscomprehensively with the new look based on previous theory achievements,which is rational divided into four factors involved in the evolution process of the category, at every stage we select a representative sub-derived proposition to explore the scope and thus grasp the full and harmonious system characteristics of "image". The first part focuses on clearing the origin and different point of "image", from the body point of view, from the Yi, Taoist and Confucian to Metaphysics, from real nature to abstract metaphysics, through different angles to grasp its initial theory connotation, taste a whole intuitive and rich symbolic "image".The second part reviews "image" using in literature creation, discusses the understanding and performance process of subject on "big image" intrinsic value around two aspects of subject and object, and examines other representative subcategories,shows the real "image" patter in created text; The third part is the expand of "image" in literature appreciation, searches fully unlimited implication of "image", reveals "image" has achieved holistic contemplation and ontological regression purposes by this constantly changing "mood", shows the full of "image" during evolution, and sketches out its rich system.
