This report is based on the author’s translation practice, and the translated text is an excerpt from The Chinese Question, which was written by Caroline S. Hau. This book is on the theme of the living conditions of the Chinese Filipinos in the Philippines from the economic, cultural, political and regional perspective. But there is still no Chinese version. The report contains four parts. The first part introduces the basic information about the translation project, including the task introduction, the original text analysis, and the task requirements. The second part describes the translation process, including preparation, while-translating, and proofreading of the task. The third part is the main body of the report. The Dynamic Equivalence and its guiding role in translation are analyzed, and then corresponding translation strategies are discussed from three levels:the semantic level, the lexical level, and the syntactic level. For each strategy, the author presents several examples and gives analysis. The last part is the conclusion, including the summary of the whole report and the reflection of the limitations and implications of the report. In addition, both the source texts and target texts will be presented in the appendix.
