Along with the development and application of Internet, Massive Open Online Courses(MOOC) have been widely employed and promoted all over the world due to the huge potentials and social influence on the educational field recently. MOOC attract much attention of domestic and international educators. Because of the educational revolutions and the improved level of technology, the production of MOOC gets more mature. The universal exploration with various forms of MOOC videos in a wide range of present subjects reflects the strong needs for MOOC in modern education. Therefore, MOOC become an inextricable part of the future development of education. This article mainly focuses on researching the application of MOOC videos in animation.Based on the analysis of the present mainstream MOOC, sorts of drawbacks in lecturing are detected, while a reasonable design of MOOC in animation is able to enhance the teaching effectiveness.Based on the theory of cognitive psychology and the analysis of knowledge types, this research generates the following views: 1. Long-winded and unintelligible procedural knowledge that is described by words and complicated or difficult to be implemented by practice and operations. 2. Lengthy and deadening declarative knowledge that is described by words. 3. Abstract concepts that contain plenty of implicit knowledge. The form of animation can promote these three types of knowledge more efficiently than other forms do.The supplementary teaching effects can only be achieved via a scientific design of MOOC in animation rather than through blindly piling figures and disorganized animation effects. These teaching settings exceeding the learners’ tolerance will not improve the teaching efficiency but become counter-productive. This paper analyzes the key points of vision design from educational videos in animation in accordance with color, pictures, and animation effects. Some findings are concluded as follows. Bright but not harsh color, and the explicit animation guidance enable learners to understand knowledge more efficiently. The workload of the external cognition can be reduced to the greatest extent, if animation is segmented reasonably in terms of certain knowledge structural framework. It will facilitate learners to master knowledge thoroughly and improve their study efficiencies to the most degree. Furthermore, with the application of the prospective flipped classroom, this studyexplores the trend of future classroom teaching with animation videos and the direction of Educational informationization.
