This is a translation report on Until I Find You, whose author is American temporary author John Irving. Source text is the chapter 28 and chapter 29. The translation project is under the guidance of relevance theory. It is divided into four parts. Part one gives an introductions to background of this project, motive and significance of the translation, the author and his works. Part two records the translation process, preparatory work; text analysis and introduction to relevance theory are included. Part three makes a detailed illustration of translation skills from these four aspects:the ways to translate the vocabulary with cultural differences, the ways to translate dialogues between characters, the ways to translate dashes and the different ways of expression in Chinese and English language. In this part the translator combine theory with detailed examples in the text to show the feasibility of relevance translation theory. Part four summarizes inspiration of this project, and sets forth the influence of translators’ subjectivity for translation.
