A Study On Yan Yanzhi And His Articles

Yan Yanzhi was one of the most famous poets in Liu-Song Dynasty, and was called “Yan Xie” with Xie Lingyun. They have played an important role in transferring the embryonic poetry and the style of writing in the early Song Dynasty. Xie Lingyun’s achievements lie in Woo Poetry, while Yan Yanzhi’s achievements in writings. However, the current academic studies focus on his poems rather than his articles. To make up for this vacancy,this paper mainly focuses on his article, and try to dig out a different Yan Yanzhi.This paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter introduces his life experiences and thoughts. This part attempts to solve the problem that when he became a government official. Meanwhile, he witnessed seven emperors of two dynasties in which the Metaphysics ideological became the trend and Buddhists ideas became popular. Therefore, he was deeply influenced by the combination of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.The second chapter reviews the contents of his articles. Most of his articles were lost in the war, for they were collected too late. With the stored articles, we can find that he is master with various stylistic features. Therefore, this paper introduces his articles according to the stylistic classification. In addition to this, the paper studies the written time of his three articles.The third chapter is mainly about the analysis of his writing style, and the influence on later generations. "Used in the wrong color of gold", "genre is startling", Are those words praises or criticisms? Through the analysis of revenant information, this paper gives us an answer, and try to evoke people to think about and analyze Yan Yanzhi and his works.
