From the perspective of functional equivalence, the thesis mainly researches on the Chinese translation of metaphor in English economic terms, mainly based on the methods of quantitative and comparative analysis. According to Nida’s translation process theory, the thesis is organized mainly from two processes: the process of "analysis of source language" and the process of "transfer and restructuring". Based on the analysis of mapping mechanisms of metaphors in source terms, the thesis first clarifies the meaning of terms and summarizes the features of metaphors in source terms; Then the thesis reviews the core concept of "the closest natural equivalent" of functional equivalence theory, extracts the two standards of the theory ─ "the closest" and "natural". Next, under the two standards, the thesis concludes four types of metaphor translation strategies: retaining, changing, giving up the original metaphor, and adding a new metaphor. Last, the thesis further analyzes which type of metaphor translation strategy should be adopted under certain situations. Through the study of the topic, the thesis may provide some reference for metaphor translation in economic terms.
