A Report On The Practice For The Interpreting In The BIT’s 2nd Annual World Congress Of Nano-S&T

The 2nd Annual World Congress of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology 2012 was held in Qingdao on Oct. 26-28, 2012. The author of this paper worked as the interpreter for most sections of this congress. In this process, the author finds it a typical example for interpretation study, so chooses four sections’ interpretation, including the speeches on opening ceremony, the introduction of experts, talents-introducing project, as well as the closing ceremony, as targets to analyze and study solution to problems such as the strategies in interpretation, with the expectation that it will promote the conclusion of laws and the formation of modes in conference interpretation.The paper discussed language features of different lecturers and in different situations; analyzed successful and unsuccessful cases, the reason behind them and presented a better version of unsuccessful cases. What’s more, the author also summarizes some tips and strategies of interpreting via analyzing details such as titles and so on, on the purpose of advancing the process of summarizing the rules and models of such world congress interpreting.
