The visual forms of ads spreading information varies, and POP(Point of Purchase) advertising is a part of them. As a popular advertising form now, it plays a very important role in creating commercial atmosphere and stimulating consumption. POP advertisement can be expressed by words, images etc. POP advertisement, broadly speaking, is a means for big shopping places to attract customers and let them buy things that is usually set in and outside the mall. To be precise, POP advertising in a narrow sense means advertising media like show window, exhibiting counter or product posters on the wall or pillars. POP also plays very positive role in commercial activities, which is practical for producer, seller and consumer as well. For consumers, POP advertising express commodity information very directly to them. For sellers, POP advertising can strengthen undecided consumer’s resolve, and let those clients make decision more quickly. For manufacturers, POP advertising can help them tell commodity information to their target market in time.This research is about the design and application of POP advertising. Take hand-drawing POP fonts as an example, this paper will take a research on many innovative POP fonts design. Through the interpretation of POP fonts design’s critical elements from a new point of view, this paper will give a conclusion about the characteristics and ways that how POP fonts design express their artistic value. The deep study on design method is based on experiences and there are also brand new domains created for further exploration. Meanwhile, all-directional analysis on POP fonts’ application is made to make POP font design spread wider and make it satisfy the readers’ enthusiastic need. In various social activities, POP fonts design becomes more familiar, which means a great new opportunity for POP art development.The research method is based on the conclusion of many POP fonts design blended with the essence of traditional patterns to express the ideology of tradition and fashion at the same time.By studying the design and application of POP advertising, this paper aims to explain the enthusiastic meaning and practical application value that POP advertising brought to modern graphic design.
