The emergence of Xuncius’ theory of absolute monarchy had its specific historical background. It was a reflection of the coming situation where territory was consolidated again and the country would be unified. Xuncius insisted Ming-fen, namely, he highlighted the role of human being in the relationship with the universe. However, the emphasis on the role of human being resulted in the lack of the respect and fears of universe, and lead to unlimited expansion of emperor’s power. As for social hierarchy, Xuncius advocated MingFenShi Qun, which meant the emperor had absolute power to rule his people and people could express nothing but absolute obedience unilaterally. Xuncius regarded Etiquette as the tool to maintain monarchical centralism. He also introduced Etiquette into the function of law. Based on such theory, Xuncius became the initiator of the thoughts about China’s ancient monarch centralization which was characterized with the feature of moderate externally but harsh internally.
