The Study Of Wang Yimin’s Poetry Anthology Of Bowu

Wang Yimin(1855——1921), born in Hunan, has written Poetry Anthology of Bowu(original edition, includes 12 vlolume, 1 ending volume, 13 volumes of Collection of Hetao), Poetry Anthology of Bowu(sequel edition, 8 volumes), Poetry Anthology of Bowu(collected works, 6 volumes), Poetry Anthology of Bowu, Bieji and Jiaoshi(Jiaoshiji edition), Ci Poetry Anthology of Bowu(4 vlolumes), Poetry Anthology of Xiangyangeshizhong. His poems reflects his feeling, living situation, ethos, and inside feelings of those scholars in later Qing. There is no academic thesis right now.The thesis is based on the study of Wang Yimin`s Poetry Anthology of Bowu. After I added the period and the comma into the text and annotated it, I study the text from topic, characteristic, and value. I try to find out its characteristics and value from his works and his unique mood.There are 792 poems in this book, which contains different topics. we can divide them into “fuchou”, “qijue”, “qingmiao”. As influenced by the era, his poems are about career, patriotism, relatives, and reclusion, reflects his feeling, living situation, ethos, and inside feelings of those scholars in later Qing.His Poetry Anthology of Bowu is of his personal characteristics, which inclues new style, personal and simple annotation, and the general style of sadness and crankiness. Based on predecessors` poems style, his works combines his own characteristics which finally brings unique artistic character.As a poet in later Qing, Wang Yimin had his own personality which is like a hermit but not far away from politics. Facing the social turmoil, unlucky career, displaced civilians, he was unable to change and help them, but put his complex feeling into his poems. We can study those poets, the information of those scholars, the acceptance of new things, and the culture of later Qing from his poems.It is meaningful to study Wang Yimin`s Bowucicun. It is essential to the study of himself, his works, those poets, and the culture in later Qing.
