Even through the rapid development of the network technology bring great convenience to people’s lives, but it has also take a host of negative outcomes to people, for example the cyberbullying behavior. Recent years, as one of the new problem behavior, cyberbullyig has received extensive attention of scholars and the public. Currently, the researches on cyberbullying mostly in the Western culture background, and most of them are related research, and little is known about the mediating mechanisms underlying this relation. This study will explore the role of parenting style on the behavior of adolescents from the perspective of family environment factors, and to examine the mediating effects of narcissism and empathy on the behavior of the network, in order to provide some empirical evidences for the cyberbullying prevention and intervention.A total of 773 middle school students from 2 schools of Wuhan city were invited to take part in this study. Participants anonymously completed completed s-EMBU, Narcissistic Personality Questionnaire, Basic Empathy Scale, Cyberbullying Inventory anonymously.The results showed that:(1) In adolescence group, the incidence of cyberbullying is 56.3%, more than half of the students have cyberbullying behavior.(2) There are significant gender differences in cyberbullying, boys’ cyberbullying behavior is significantly higher than girls.(3) There are significant grade differences in cyberbullying, cyberbullying in high school significantly more than middle school students.(4) Negative Parenting Style (parental refused, the parental overprotection) was significantly positively correlated with cyberbullying; Positive Parenting Style (parental warmth) was negative correlation with cyberbullying.(5) All of adolescents’overt and covert narcissism were positive associated with cyberbullying significantly, but only covert narcissism significantly predicted cyberbullying.(6) All of adolescents’ emotional and congnitive empathy were negative associated with cyberbullying significantly, but only congnitive empathy significantly predicted cyberbullying.(7) Three kinds of Parenting styles were associated with covert narcissism, parental refused, overprotective were significant positive correlation with the covert narcissism; parental warmth were significant negative associated with Covert Narcissism. Three kinds of Parenting Styles were significantly positively correlated with overt narcissistic, and parental refused, warmth significantly predicted it.(8) Parental refused was significant negative with cognitive and emotional empathy, and significant negative predicted cognitive empathy; the relation between Parental overprotection and cognitive, emotional empathy is not significant; Emotional warmth was significant positive associated with cognitive empathy and emotional empathy, and significantly predict them.(9) Covert Narcissism were significantly negatively correlated with cognitive empathy and emotional empathy, and significantly predictied cognitive empathy. Overt narcissism had no significient relation with cognitive and emotional empathy.(10) Covert narcissism mediated the relationship between the three kinds of parenting styles and cyberbullying; Cognitive empathy mediated the relationship between parental refused and parental warmth; Covert Narcissism and cognitive empathy played sequential mediating roles between parenting styles and cyberbullying.
