Analysis Of The Factors Affecting Consecutive Interpreting Quality

During the internship in the Administration of Foreign Experts’ Affairs of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the writer participated in the reception of Israeli gynecologist Dr. Roy’s visit to Ningxia People’s Hospital. On October 18th, Ningxia People’s Hospital held a welcome reception for Dr. Roy. The writer served as an interpreter at the welcome reception.The interpreting report is finished in accordance with the interpreting practice at the welcome reception. The report is divided into four parts. The first part is an introduction to the practice, including the background, significance and evaluation. In the second part, the writer analyzes three factors affecting the consecutive interpreting quality, namely, preparation, note-taking and memory as well as expression. Based on the factors, the writer comes up with some strategies to improve the consecutive interpreting quality in the third part. The last part brings the report to a conclusion.This report aims at providing a consecutive interpreting mirror for the writer as well as other interpreters, thus to improve the consecutive interpreting quality and the interpreting performance in the future.
