Chu Wanghua is a famous composer and pianist. Although living abroad, he was concerned about the piano art cause all the time. He found that there is a tremendous amount of Chinese piano literaturem, but the works of Piano Four-Hands are relatively scarce, which is an important part of the piano music culture. Therefore, he concluded that it is an important topic in China’s piano art cause development by more introducing domestic and foreign good songs, especially to produce and adapt the Piano Four-Hands with Chinese national style and can be applied in the teaching and play of it. In his old age, he spent his most time in studying and creating Piano Four-Hands works. These works are adapted from the domestic and foreign well-known (device) music, and his works inherited the idea of his early writing with the style in a "return" way. The study object in the paper is 9 piano Four-Hands works with Chinese styles that were created by Chu Wanghua and released in "Chinese and Foreign Popular Music Piano Duet" by Anhui Art and Literature Publishing House.In the paper, the analysis to works are carried out through access to a large number of background information and by relying on "The Chinese and Foroeign Popular Music Piano Four-Hands", then the relatively systematic study on the 9 works with Chinese styles is carried out, all these are aimed at discussing the characteristics of Chu Wanghua’s piano music and its practical significance in society. The main results and conclusions of the paper is as follows:Carrying out the overview about Chinese and foreign piano Four-Hands development, including playing activities, and works creations, etc. Carrying out the music analysis to his 9 pieces of work, among which including the four aspects of musical structure, melody development, texture and harmonic techniques. The features of his creation of the 9 works was analyzed with the study results of the last chapter as the basis, which includes the composer’s selection of the works’ themes, the musical structure with ethnic characteristics used in the composer’s adaption of these works, and the reflection of folk music elements in the works. Performance analysis, the writing purpose of this part is to combine theory with practice, analyze specifically the musical image of the works by with the basic technology requirement of Piano Four-Hands as the basis, and to study how to present music correctly by using rational method of touching keys.
