The Function As Weak Negation Of (?)(不是) And The Study Of Related Research

Negative judgement word "(?)’’(不是)in modern Chinese is widely used as strong negation.In recent years,as the meaning of weak negation, "(?)’’(不是)is gradually gaining more and more attention,but this has not been made by scholars clearly defined. This dissertation is aimed at making some research about weak negation "bush"(不是)by the analysis of three unconventional sentences,using theories about the Subjectivity, the Counter-expectation,the Conversational Cooperative Principle.The first chapter explained the research object, the related research achievement, the research purpose and meaning, the study methods and the corpus sources.The second chapter we make a definition of weak negation and analyzes its main characteristics.The weak negation means that the negative words show one’s attitude of dissatisfaction to some opinions by a form of negation, which do not make a simple judgment about a sentence.Its main features include the negative marker,the contradiction of the outside form and the dependence on context.Then, we make a comparison between the weak negation and the weak amout negation of "(?)’’(不是).The third chapter on the basis of a large number of corpus analysis analyzes three unconventional sentences of weak negative "(?)’’(不是)：’(?) A,ershi B’(不是A,而是B),’bu shi wo VP+ consequence sentence’(不是我VP+后续句)and’bu shi X deX’(不是X的X), and analyzes their sentence features and pragmatic value.The fourth chapter make a further analysis of "(?)’’(不是)as weak negation. First, we discuss its expression effect from the point of the Subjectivity and the Counter-expectation.Then from the perspective of conversational cooperative principle and cognitive context,we analyze the comprehension mechanism of "(?)"(不是)as weak negation.Finally we put forwards the interpretation of its epidemic reasons by the theory of Memetics and the economy principle.
