In the 1980s, Zheng Min, once worked as a poet, brought her poetry works back to the literary world. Zheng Min, who devoted her half lifetime to learning the western literature, realized that the abandoned Chinese cultural tradition is the treasure that we should study. Zheng’s poetics has two major dimensions ---language and tradition, and the two are actually inseparable. Zheng advocated that the development of the new poetry should be a return to tradition, she used the deconstruction theory combined with the latest western linguistics results to question the "May 4th" movement, which artificially dissevered the rationality of tradition. At present, the existence of new poetry is facing with the traditional fracture, the lack of classic, learning the West blocked and other practical difficulties. Zheng Min use the two aspects of the new poetry language and poetic tradition to describe the development of new poetry in the future picture. This paper includes four chapters. First of all,the introduction of this paper elaborates the research status of Zheng Min’s poetics, as well as the significance and innovation spot of this research. The first chapter studies the western poetics background of Zheng Min’s traditional concept of new poetry. Among which, the traditional view of T·S·Eliott, Edward·Hills and other poets, Ferdinand·de·Saussure’s view on language and the deconstruction theory of Lacan · Jacques, jacques·derrida and other poets have deep influence on Zheng Min. The second chapter researches the development and rheology of Zheng Min’s traditional view of new poetry. Zheng’s poetics theory is full of contemporary consciousness. Zheng Min concerned about the trouble of the new poetry’s development as well as the historical background of both at home and abroad, which including cultural vacuum caused by fracture between new poetry and traditional culture, the acclimatization when study the western culture and cultural hegemony in the post-colonial era, etc.The third chapter further clarify Zheng Min’s theoretical connotation of the traditional view of new poetry. Zheng stressed the need to rediscover the autonomy of new poetry, which including the reconstruction of the traditional consciousness and the poet must save his life. As for the problems what can be inherited from the traditional poetry and how to inherit, she mainly illustrates from the following aspects:Classical rhyme,Chinese Charm, Cultural tradition and so on. The fourth chapter focuses on the question and controversy upon Zheng Min’s traditional view of new poetry and reflection on it.Zheng Min’s traditional view of new poetry is controversial since it was put forward, and the controversy has centred on the following questions:whether there is tradition of new poetry, whether new poetry returning to tradition is culturally conservative and even declining, if the language view which Zheng Min’s traditional view of new poetry is based on gets into poetry mysticism, whether the western new poetry language view and deconstruction theory which is the poetic background of Zheng’s traditional view of new poetry is reasonable, and so on. Those questions can be sumed into two categories. One is questioning Zheng’s poetics getting into the "cultural conservatism". They think turning back to the tradition is backward,.t At the same time, they also doubt the learning methods and guidance Zheng used to learn the tradition, considering that’s an ignorance of the differences between new poetry and ancient poetry. The other one is questioning Zheng’s regression to tradition being more thoroughly against tradition since her view is based on western theories. They mainly doubt the interpretation method and the application process of the western philosophy which Zheng’s view is based on. Combining the doubts that academic has on Zheng’s poetics can help us to have a deeper understanding of Zheng’s traditional view of poetics. The language of new poetry and poetry tradition are the main issues of Zheng’s poetics. Zheng Min’s poetry contains what she has learned and thought in her half lifetime. Nearly a century passed, new poetry’s development has been facing the breakthrough from the fracture with the root of traditional culture and the encirclement and suppression of culture. hegemony. Zheng Min believes that language must be respected and she thinks that only based on the national tradition, can we strengthen the foundation of the development of new poetry.
