Research Of Lyrics In Vietnamese Ca Tru

Ca Tru(A genre of art in Vietnam, it is also known as declamation piece), as one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, shining in Vietnamese art with its special characters. However, it is endangered and fading out people’s daily life. Some artists and young generation in Vietnam are trying to protect that and find out more things about it. In Ca Tru, there were 3 person. One was a female singer called Miss Dao who singing the song as the same time play wacthman’s clapper. One was a guy who play a special instrument while another elder or brilliant guy act as an audience when heating a drum. Vietnamese Ca Tru originated from Hang Son of Ha Tinh province of Vietnam. And later spread to some northern provinces such as Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Ha Nam, Ha Noi, Bac Ninh and Hung An. Then it became more and more popular. Because of social unrest, it gradually became a way of making living instead of for fun. And it was showed from court to temples to around ordinary people then finally to singing show places. Ca Tru was suppressed for it was kind of hedonism after August Revolution in 1945. People started accept it again because some older artists’ s trying for let people knew about the art of Ca Tru. Thus, Vietnamese realized the importance of Ca Tru and started trying to keep this art sustaining. We can say Ca Tru is a genre of mixed with talking and singing. It has plenty of tunes, and its lyrics are meaningful with lingering charm. It maintains highly social value, art value and culture value. This essay was mainly talk about some ideas of how Ca Tru is from its performance, history, current situation, languages and lyrics. Hope it will help more people know about Ca Tru and show their respect to traditional culture and try to keep it. It will be great if this thesis can be helpful to those who study Ca Tru.
