The complement of state is a specific grammatical structure in modern Chinese language. It regarded as a difficult grammatical structure in teaching Chinese as a second language. However, the outline of Chinese grammar divided it into the complement of degree instead of a independent grammatical concept. We surveyed foreign students who have different Chinese knowledge from school of international education of Zhengzhou University about their learning of the complement of state. Next, we analyzed and the complement of state in Developing Chinese which is a set of comprehensive textbooks for foreign students to learn Chinese as a second language. Then, we put forward some suggestion from teaching methods and compiling textbooks. At last, we give some advice for teachers teaching Chinese as a second language.The paper included four chapters. The first chapter is the preface, we introduced the purpose, the method and the significance of the paper. Also, we introduced the present research about the complement of state and teaching method in teaching the complement of state as a foreign language, and the theory that analyzing structure, meaning and using, and the theory of error analysis. The second chapter is the situation that students learn the complement of state. The third chapter is the analysis of the complement of state in Developing Chinese. The fourth chapter is the suggestion for teaching method and compiling textbooks in teaching complement of state as a second language. |
