Although Chinese and Korean are belong to two different linguistic system, both Chinese and Korean have the expression of guess-category verbs. This paper uses the expression of guess-category verbs in Chinese which contains words such as, guess forecast, and speculate and guess-category verbs in Korean as research object to analyse the corresponding forms of the two languages and the common points and different points from the perspective of semantic, syntax and pragmatics. This paper is divided into the following four parts:Chapter one is exordium, which specifys the purpose, significance and the research object and content, introduces the research situation related to the expression of guess-category verbs between Chinese and Korean, and explains the source of the data.Chapter two shows the comparison of semantic features of expression of guess-category verbs between Chinese and Korean by analysing the paraphrase and data according to the dictionary, finds out the differences, and summarizes the corresponding forms of the two languages.Chapter three shows the comparison of syntactic behavior of expression of guess-category verbs between Chinese and Korean through researching and investigating syntactic function and syntactic collocations. This paper makes it clear that the syntactic constituent of expression of guess-category verbs in Chinese could be used as subject, predicate, object, attribute and adverbial from the angle of syntactic function, and reviews collocation of the guess-category verbs and their subject, object, complement, when they appear on predicative position from the angle of syntactic collocation.Chapter four shows the comparison of pragmatic function of expression of guess-category verbs between Chinese and Korean from the perspective of frequency of utilization, sentence distribution and the usage of person.The last part sums up the main conclusions of the paper and raises the deficiencies of the paper.
