The Cultural Creative Industry of Latvia in 2012 is an introduction brochure launched, composed and published by the cultural industry department of Latvia. The translator was entrusted by the cultural propaganda department of Shandong province with the purpose of translating the material and giving a comprehensive and detailed introduction of the development of the Latvian cultural creative industry in 2012. The brochure is a papery document with about 25,000 words in which 12,081 words were translated by the author.This translation report mainly consists of four chapters. The first chapter is an introduction of the content, particularities and meaning of this translation project. As a cultural propaganda text, the structure of this brochure is clear and has rich content which is interesting to read; in this chapter the author also expounds the main characteristics of the translation project, including the English translation of the non-native English speakers and exclusive Latvian vocabulary translation. The second chapter explains the textual characteristics of the brochure and points out the difficulties of translating as well as the solution to solve them, including the translation of professional vocabulary with Latvia local characteristics, long and difficult sentences and euphemistic way of expressing the critical words. The third chapter is cases analysis of the version. The author employed the way of examples to show the application of specific methods and strategies to solve the problems in the process of translation. Some translation strategies, such as transliteration, annotation and reconstitution of sentences were frequently-used in the version. The translator also provides the practical tools and resources in this chapter. The fourth chapter is the summary of the translation project and attaches the importance of using strategy with conscious intention and summarized strategies.
