| Compared with previous studies on tourism text translation which were focus on intercultural communication and language culture etc.,the study of the Chinese-English translation of tourism text under the guidance of the Translation Geography is a new issue.Using Translation Geography to research and analyze the C-E translation of tourism texts, we can not only explore how to use geographical theory to guide the translation practice, but also make the translation of tourism texts to a new theoretical height.Translation Geography takes research methods from Translatology and Geography.The research content being very widespread,with theoretical and practical aspects of physical geography, human geography. This research has meticulous logicality and is really an innovation.With the development of China’s economy and society, China has engaged in increasing exchanges and cooperation with other countries and regions. China’s natural and beautiful landscapes, as well as the infinite charm formed by thousands of years of cultural heritage attract growing number of foreign tourists.They regard China as their tourist destination.Therefore, in consideration of China’s vast land area and diverse geographical environment, this paper,taking C-E translation of tourism text in Shanghai area as an example, study how to express more cultural connotation of tourism text to foreign tourists from the perspective of Translation Geography.This paper firstly describes the characteristics of the tourism text and summarizes the present researches of the C-E translation of tourism texts.Then it introduces the theoretical structure of translation geography.Next, the paper explores the significance and implication of translation geography on translation case. At the same time, some principles are also proposed. Finally, there are some suggestions for the future research. This paper is an exploration of translation geography, primarily from five dimensions to analyze the translation of tourism texts. Immature and defective as it may be in many aspects, it is hoped that we can apply translation geography to translation practice,promote its development, and apply it to more areas of translation practice. |
