In the period of Romanticism (1810---1900 years) composers,who not only paid great attention to the music but also paid more attention to poetry and literature, created a new theme of the piano concert etudes. Many composers of the romantic period,such as Berlioz, Wagner, Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn, created Piano Concert Etudes. Franz liszt was especially outstanding. In terms of technology and music, liszt’s piano concert etudes occupy an important position in the concert etudes. This paper, based on liszt’s two piano concert etudes the Waldesrauschen and Gnomenreigen, emphatically analyzes the music features and performance features of them.This paper is made up of introduction, three chapters and conclusion.The introduction elaborates the source of the topic, purpose and significance of the study. And research achievements on this topic both at home and abroad so far are summarized.The first chapter is a brief introduction of liszt’s music career and his piano works. And the historical development of piano etude and piano concert etude are sorted out, affirming that liszt’s piano etudes play an important role in the whole piano art history.The second chapter is a brief introduction of the creation background of liszt’s two piano concert etudes, emphasizing the music analysis of the musical structure,melody, tonality, rhythm, timbre and texture of the two piano concert etudes.The third chapter, combined with personal playing experience, technical difficulties of playing the two etudes are analyzed.
