A Report On Interpreting For Visiting Mayor Of Front Of Yonge,Canada To Cenxi City,Guangxi

With the continuous development of world economy and exchanges between countries, the earth is worthy of the name "global village". Under such circumstance, China’s foreign affairs increase dramatically. During the mayor of Front of Yonge, Mr. Roger Haley visited Cenxi city, I had the privilege as an interpreter. After the practice finished, writer transfer the audio material into text. By using the theories I have learned, writer analyze the source language and target language. Solutions to several problems happened in interpreting process also have been put forward and a few interpreting skills and strategies have been concluded. Then, the Report of Interpreting is born.This report is composed of five parts---task description, process description, preparations, case analysis and summary with case analysis as the core part. The first part is a generalization of the content and features of this task. The second part is the process description. The part of preparations describes the preparations made by the writer, including preparation for relevant materials, preparation for language knowledge, preparation for equipment and psychological quality. The part of case analysis describes problems and skills happened in the interpreting process by analyzing examples. On the basis of the application of interpreting methods, compensation of cultural knowledge, misinterpretation case, writer put forward several interpreting strategies. The summary part describes some methods to improve interpreting ability from the following three aspects:short-term memory, psychological quality and on-the-spot resilience, and encyclopedic knowledge.
