The Research Of "Zhen You X De" Construction In Modern Chinese

As a kind of common expression in modern Chinese, based on the theory of Construction Grammar, this paper regards "zhen you X de" construction as the object of study and will a comprehensive study in many aspects. Four chapters are divided in this paper:Chapter one is the preface. The object of the research, significance, methods and the resources of corpus will be discussed. The relevant study from other experts will be listed systemically, which paves the way for further study.Chapter two will analyze the definition of "zhen you X de" construction, which is a kind of subjective evaluation and with a sense of expressing attitudes. With the examples from ancient Chinese, the research in the synchronic level will be examined with the perspective of diachronic level. This construction also has other constructions occurring simultaneously, including some constructions added in the front, in the back and with both front and back forms. All those provide the significance of evaluation for the constructions.Chapter three is mainly about the variable "X" in the construction, which basically are some personal pronouns in the position. The syntactic function will also be discussed. The variable can have little connection and relation with other parts in the sentence structurally whose function is as a clause. In this case, it can appear at the beginning or in the middle or the last position. Meanwhile, it can be used singly without the appearance of other parts. It can also make structural connection with other parts in the sentence to be a predicate.Chapter four will have a discussion about the pragmatic and forming mechanism for "zhen you X de". It can offer a pragmatic effect on strengthening the tones. The focus will fall into the character "zhen" as an evaluative adverb, which is the key for the meaning of the sentence. The pragmatic principles are complicated in this construction. The suitability of the principles of close and distant relationship and the status needs to take the variable "X" into consideration. And the priority must be given to the principle of close and distant relationship compared with the principle of status. This construction is formed in a dual effect of analogy and language situation.The last part is epilogue, which provides a conclusion for the whole parts and proposes the innovation points and shortages.
