Research On The Relationship Between " Book Of Songs " And South Korean Culture

As the carrier and spread medium of culture, languages have intimate connection with culture and it is a specific phenomenon of culture. Languages play an important role on culture which being a part of it. Some scholars regard languages as the cornerstone for culture that is if no languages there is no culture. The other hand languages are also influenced by culture and reflect on it. Meanwhile as a mirror of characteristics of a country and a nation, languages record the history and culture background of its country and nation, and have effect on people’s lifestyle and way of thinking even the perspective for life. Languages and culture are interacting, interworking and supply each other. If we want understand languages, we must know its culture and vice versa."The book of songs" is the earliest poetry collections in China and it has history of 3000years. It is an important symbol of the old Chinese civilization and special culture form of Chinese ancient scholars. The emotion and artistic conception which delivered by poetry are very colorful and intensive and have a huge effect on later generations as well as Chinese culture circle. Especially the languages which began from " The book of songs " have very positive influence at formation and development of subculture language systematic. Till today we still use the rich, exquisite, vivid, simple and popular vocabularies of poetry. The powerful vitality of "The book of songs" languages not only affects the Chinese language systematic also has effect on the Korean language systematic. In Korea, many words are from "Poetry", for example "young man", "allay one’s hunger", "fair lady", "a long life" and so on. As everyone knows, Korea began to accept and enjoy Chinese traditional culture long ago, especially many books of Confucian classics and " The book of songs". In Korea, "The book of songs" was textbooks for ancient literati, and required to read. We can see the effect of "The book of songs" on the Korean culture. All above, the words from "The book of songs" also affect the language systematic and culture of Korea naturally.In this paper, we will inspect how the words from "The book of songs" are used in Korean and how they are changed in Korea by study the etymology, effects, and interpretation. Meanwhile focus at language culture to inspect relationship between "The book of songs" and Korean culture, and realize how the "The book of songs" has intimate connection with Korean languages and culture. Study the effects of the "The book of songs" to Korean culture from the relationship between languages and culture, which also help us understand origin of Korean correctly.
