| From 1980s to 1990s,there appeared some female novelists in Zhuang literary world, which led to a climax of novelette’s creation in female literary world of Zhuang. Prior to this, there once were some female poets in the history of Zhuang literary, such as Lu Xiaogu, Zhang Miaoquan, Zeng Pinglan and so on, however, female novelists of zhuang were very rare. After this,it appeared novels created by female writers in the literary history of Zhuang. Therefore,the female novelists of Zhuang at this time and their novelettes were very valuable. In the novelettes created by these female novelists of Zhuang, they created many colorful characters, which revealed different people’state of mind and existence at the period of social change. In this paper, the characters showing up in the novelettes created by female writers of Zhuang from 1980s to 1990s are the objects of study. We are trying to explore the spiritual core and characteristics of the times they reflect through the specific analysis of the characters. This paper has five parts:the first part is the introduction, which briefly describes the main reason of this thesis, the current status of the research, the purpose and the significance of this study. The second part is the analysis of the characters.We divide the female images into three types by characteristics, which are submissive, struggling and self-independent. The male images have three types: ignorant, cowardly and positive. The third part is the analysis of the causes leading to the fate of the characters. The causes have two parts:internal factors which include personality and the level of education, external factors which include personal growth environment, traditional culture and historical background. The fourth part is the analysis of the literary value of the characters. We analyze this point from three aspects:the view of gender and marriage, the view of value and life, the view of culture. The last part is the review of the whole paper. We discuss the merits and shortcomings of the novelettes, aiming at providing reference for the creation of female writers of Zhuang. |
