The Studies On Ecological Sustainable Development Thoughts Of John·Foster

With the rapidly development of the world economics, the ecological crisis is increasingly serious. How to resolve the ecological crisis and harmonious coexistence of human and nature, which arouse many scholars’ attention and consideration.Among different exploring theories, Eco-Marxism is becoming one of the most influential ethos of contemporary foreign Marxism. John · Bellamy · Foster(1953-) is the main representative of Eco-Marxism. He dug and analyzed the ecological thoughts from Marx’s main works. He deeply criticized capitalism by using Marx’s materialism conception of nature and ecological theory. On this basis, he rebuilt the metabolic rift theory of Marx and created the ecological view of sustainable development between human and nature. John· Foster enriched the theory system of Marxism and provided the methodological guidance to resolve global ecological crisis and build ecological society. Studying on John· Foster’s Eco-Marxism is providing essential theoretical guidance to solve our current ecological problems. It is also the reference to build the “Beautiful China” which was mentioned in the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.In this paper, through the literature research, dialectical analysis and other methods. The thesis consists of five parts:The first part, the introduction part. It shows the topic’s purpose and its significance, research status domestic and abroad, research methods, innovation points and disadvantages.The second part, it explains the appearance of sustainable development thought of John Foster from the realistic and theoretical background perspectives.The third part, analyzing the basic components: Foster and his books and articles.His sustainable development thoughts includes: eliminating the alienation of therelationship between human and nature, developing economy moderately, establishing ecological consumption values and ecological revolution.The fourth part, the comments on John· Foster’s sustainable development thoughts. It not only contains positive side, but also disadvantages and limitation.The fifth part, stating how Foster’s sustainable development thoughts inspiring the construction of ecological civilization in China. First of all, facing the current status of ecological environment in China, so that we can put forward the reasonable developing policies. We will build a resource-saving and environment-friendly society;Strengthening ecological and moral education is to improve the consciousness and level of protecting the environment; Learning the effective methods of solving ecological crisis from other countries; when we developing economy and technology,we need to give the consideration about protecting the environment.
