Research On The Intervention Of Group Work In Inferiority Mentality Of Rural Left-behind Children

With the rapid development of social and economic in China in recent years, there have been a lot of labor gap in the process of urban construction.With the further improvement of free floating population policy, a large number of surplus labor force in rural areas began to transfer to urban areas. At the same time, there has been a huge vulnerable group in rural areas, named group of left behind children.Because of the special growth environment and experience, left behind children lack of accompany and care from parents, not like non left behind children that they can live together and enjoy the happy growth time with their parents overnight. Due to separation from parents, the left behind children are prone to appear all kinds of psychological problems and adverse reactions.The normal life of some of the left behind children will be affected seriously by these psychological barriers and problems. Especially in the group of left behind children, there is a common sense of inferiority phenomenon. A large number of studies show that inferiority complex is a common psychological problem in the group of left behind children,and it led to a lot of left behind children lack of self-confidence and self identity seriously. Some children even abandon themselves. As a helping professional,social work has its own superiority in inferiority complex psychological problems of the left behind children. Not only does the intervention relieve their inferiority complex effectively, but also bring more practical experience for rural social work. It is also significant to the development of social work for children and adolescents. In order to understand their situation clearly, in this paper, one hundred and five left behind children in several villages in Wei Nan city were investigated by questionnaires and interviews.The results of the survey and interviews show that there is a common sense of inferiority complex in the left behind children in the local area.Through the further analysis of the questionnaire content and combined with the indexes of diagnostic scale of inferiority complex, the author found that the inferiority complex psychological problems of the local left behind children can be divided into two types: motivation and expectations too high and determine themselves can not prematurely. And the causes of the inferiority complex of the local left behind children mainly come from four aspects: the individual, the family, the school, the community and the environment.Through the problems and needs assessment of the local left behind children, the author work out the implementation plan of group work and implement it effectively to help the left behind children to overcome the inferiority complex psychological problems and restore their good self state.
