Space Clues Attention is ability of shifting attention to the target location according to the clues. Good ability of Clues Attention helps children to notice the relationship between clues and target, being quick to new things, and improve efficiency and accuracy of learning. Researchers widely believed that the types of prompt clues and the ways of prompt would affect the ability of space clues attention, for children with autism, what types of the prompt and how the prompt show up will affect these children’rehabilitation efficacy. But such research is not enough at the present stage. Therefore this study is to research the clues attention in children with autism form the clues’types and the SOA of clues to target, trying to explore the the best types of clues and SOA for ASD.The study includes two series of researches:first was aimed to analyze the different types of clues which affect the cue direction attention of ASD and its processing characteristics by regarding the accuracy、response time, gazing time and gazing times as dependent variables. It is consisted of three experiments:The 1st experiment was to explore the boxed、arrow、 gestures、eye contact and no clue which would affect the cue direction attention of ASDs or not, the results showed that:The ASDs had the ability to track the effective cues and the arrow、gestures cues are the best. There was no significant difference between ASDs and TDs in the gazing time and times, but ASDs were extremely significant lower than TDs in the accuracy of identification and response time,so the cue processing efficiency of ASDs was low. The 2nd Experiment was to explore the social and nonsocial cues which would affect the cue direction attention of ASD or not, the results as follow:there was no significant difference between ASD and TD in the accuracy of the social and nonsocial cues, but the response time of nonsocial cues was faster than social cues. The 3rd Experiment was to explore endogenous and exogenous cues which would affect the cue direction attention of ASD or not, the results are:there was no significant difference between ASDs and TDs in the accuracy and response time of endogenous and exogenous cues, ASDs needed more time for the processing for eye contact of endogenous and exogenous cues. Through the above experiments, it was concluded that:though the capability of the attention on the different types of cues of ASDs were significantly behind than the TD, they were able to follow the clues, the hand gesture was the best. The study also illustrated that School-age children with autism are able to follow the clues, they can pay attention to the target location according to the clues. The second series of research-the 4th experiment trying to explore the best SOA of clues to target under the differernt SOA such as 000ms and 300 ms and 600 ms and 1200 ms and 2400 ms.The experimental results show that:the SOA has no effect on the accuracy, ASD children’s reaction speed faster and faster as the growth of the SOA,and the RT peaked at 1200 ms. The clues-target distribution prompt way was good for ASD children detecting position pointed by clues accurately and rapidly.According to the conclusions of this study, the future of multimedia teaching and situational teaching can adopt more arrows clues and gestures as ASD study tips clues, the clues-target distribution prompt way could more conducive to the ability of space clues point to attention of ASDs. In the future we could choose ASD children of pre-school age, carry out more research in the area used the mean of E-Prime and eye movement technology combined.
