Romantic period is the "golden time" of piano music. During this period there have existed a lot of composers who always have different styles, but in contrast with other composers living in that period, Mendelssohn has his own unique creative style. His works are closely linked with the music created in Baroque period and Classical period, but music written by him also contains a romantic atmosphere. Piano Piece "Songs without Words" is the most representative work among all of Mendelssohn’s music. Meanwhile, "Songs without Words" also occupies important and great position in piano music development history. Based on Mendelssohn’s unique creation style and the great status of "Songs without Words", in order to increase understanding on Mendelssohn’s piano music style, the emotion reflected from the content, form, title, music playing skills of "Songs without Words" is deeply analyzed and studied.
