Usage expressions includes adages, popular sayings and fixed expressions that is always naturally appears in our daily conversation.Usage expressions are widely used in Chinese people’s daily conversation, and most of them cannot be replaced by other expressions when we use them. In the course of teaching Chinese as a second language, learning usage expressions is a great difficulty for many students, teachers are also used to put less attention on the process of teaching such knowledge. So, we can find the importance of teaching usage expressions through looking for the content, characteristics and sources of usage expressions, and use the analysis of students’ errors to summarize some teaching methods of pronunciation, meaning, grammar and Chinese characters. We hope to provide some useful suggestions through a teaching case at the same time.The research of usage expressions has profound significances.
