| In recent years, with the support and promotion of Chinese and Russian government, communication between people from two countries has been frequent and people from both countries have larger interest in travelling to their counterpart country, thus the number of Russian visitors in China has increased greatly. Tianjin, as one of the four municipalities in China, has abundant travelling resources with long history and attracted a lot of foreign visitors. The Ancient Culture Street and the Five Avenues are chosen in this article since this is a classic travel line in the center of the town. The Ancient Culture Street has numerous ancient architecture and ancient-style buildings. People could have a general understanding of Tianjin’s tradition, customs and culture. While the Five Avenues used to be leased territory to the UK and now is an area for first-class residential sector which is full of old buildings with different styles where famous people used to live in, thus this scenic spot is known as “Exhibition of Architecture†through which people can learn the historical change in Tianjin. Hence this thesis is focused on imitating interpretation as tourist guide in the Five Avenues and Ancient Culture Street.The thesis can be divided into 4 chapters. Chapter 1 is about the background knowledge and introduction of tourist guide translation program. Chapter 2 is focused on case analysis in which the author has analyzed from the perspective of mistranslation and omit-translation, and also listed the parts that are rather hard to translate. Chapter 3 is about translating theory and techniques in which the author illustrates the guiding theories of this practice and listed the necessary skills needed for successful translation. Chapter 4 is the reflection of the translator on the translation program, mainly including the importance of preparatory work before translation, the characteristic of translators and the flaws of this thesis. |
