Objective : Internet Gaming Disorder(IGD) was adopted by the fifth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(DSM-V) in May 2013. It indicated that IGD may become a kind of behavioral addiction categories of mental dirorder. Abnormal biochemical indices of IGD patients were often in clinic various, however, the empirical research about the aforementioned indices is rare reported demonstrated. Therefore the present study aimed to explore the alterations of serum homocysteine(Hcy), uric acid(UA), trace elements levels and incidence of Food Intolerance in adolescent with internet gaming disorder and the relationship between these biochemical indicators and the extent of Internet gaming disorder adolescent. Exploring the possibility of the above factors as biological indicators of Internet gaming disorder, and to provide objective indictors could be use for the clinical intervention of IGD.Methods : a hundred and three adolescents with internet gaming disorder first episode from in China Young Mental Development Base, General Hospital of Beijing Military Region were enrolled as the study group, who conform to “The clinical diagnostic criteria for Internet addiction”. a hundred and one healthy persons were enrolled as control group, then the serum Hcy, UA, trace elements and the specific Ig G antibodies of fourteen different food antigens concentrations in serum of two groups were detected and compared. The study group was tested with the Adolescent Pathological Internet Use Scale(APIUS) and analyse the relationship between these biochemical indicators and the extent of Internet gaming disorder adolescent. SPSS18.0 was used to analyze data.Results :(1)The serum Hcy, UA of the study group were all higher than those of control group(P<0.01 or P<0.05);(2)The serum Pb、Fe、Cu of the study group were all higher than those of control group(P<0.05),while the serum Zn were lower than that of control group(P<0.05).(3)The average score of APIUS were significantly positively correlated with the serum Hcy, UA, Pb levels(P<0.01 or P<0.05)and were significantly negatively correlated with the serum Zn levels(P<0.05).(4)The study group with serum total Ig G positive rate is significantly higher than the healthy control group(P<0.001)The positive rate of serum food-specific Ig G antibodies of egg 、milk、crab、rice and corn were statistically different between the two groups(P<0.05) in 14 kinds foods;(5)In the study group, the average score of APIUS in patients with food intolerance was higher than negative patients, but the difference were no significant(P>0.05).Conclusions :(1)The levels of serum Hcy, UA in adolescents with Internet gaming disorder were disturbance.(2)The level of serum Pb、Zn in adolescents with Internet addiction disorder were abnormally.(3)The alterations of serum Hcy, UA and most trace elements level may be closely related to the extent of Internet addiction,(4)The incidence of food intolerance in adolescents with Internet gaming disorder was higher, especially in eggs and milk. so further study is needed to clear it. All the aforementioned indices can be used as the aid biological parameters for the diagnosis of IGD.
