Beijing as the capital of China, as an exotic image of the other, as one aspect to show the image of the whole of China, is the product of western social collective imagination. In the early 20th century, French writer’s image of "Beijing", on the one hand, continue to consolidate and enrich the collective imagination, put the image of Beijing into the overall framework of image of China, expression of ideology. on the other hand, Beijing’s image as an independent individual, to analysis deeply specific studies, trying to get rid of the shackles of France at that time social and cultural context and looking forward to the limit of vision, to shape a different from the image of the western social collective imagination. Although French writer’s Beijing city image, always swing between imagination and reality, and there are many cultural misreading, but also because of the perspective of diversification, and the exotic style of writing, only appears plump and distinctive Beijing city image, at the same time, more reflect the watcher France for reflection and looking forward to the Chinese culture and its culture.This thesis, the author with the French writer Pierre’s "the fall of Beijing" and victor Xie Ge of "Rene les" two texts as example, based on two texts about urban landscape image, the character image and cultural image is the embodiment of the three levels, show the Beijing city’s image in the early 20th century. And analysis the differences of the two writer’s Beijing image, on the preliminary discussion from the perspective of angle of comparative literature.
