| ObjectiveThe study applied MFT-IAT (Multifactor Trait Implicit Association Test) to explore explicit personality traits and implicit personality traits from the perspective of personality traits.MethodIn Nanjing Audit Institute, PDQ-4 and CBF-PI-B were administered to 1200 freshmen and sophomore students. We received 1019 questionnaires. Based on PDQ-4 score (more than 36) the students were divided into personality disorder tendency group (173 people) and normal group (846 people). Students with personality disorder tendency and 10% normal students were interviewed using SCID-II and 40 personality disorder and 31 normal students were enrolled as subjects. IAT (implicit association test) was conducted in all subjects.Results1.There was a significant implicit effect on the big five personality dimensions, i.e. congruency reaction times more than incongruence reaction times.2.The repeated measure variance analysis results indicated implicit effect of the five personality dimensions showed no significant differences.3.Each score of explicit personality dimensions ranked as follows: conscientiousness (C), agreeableness (A), openness (O), neuroticism (N) and extraversion (E).4.PDQ-4 score was significantly positively correlated with explicit N score and negatively with the other explicit scores and implicit E score.5.Independent samples t-test results indicated that the personality disorder(PD) group and normal group showed significant differences in explicit N and A and implicit C.6. Gender difference was found in explicit A and implicit C.7.Regression analysis (explicit and implicit personality dimensions as independent variable respectively) results indicated that implicit C, explicit C and A was influencing factors for PDQ respectively;Conclusion1.The five personality dimensions demonstrate different implicit effect, the decreasing order as follows:agreeableness, extraversion, conscientious, emotional stability, openness.2.The implicit personality traits are not associated with the explicit personality traits.3 Implicit personality traits conscientious, explicit personality trait conscientious and agreeableness are influencing factors for personality disorder. |
