A Reflective Research Report On C-E Translation Of Application Documents For Establishing Confucius Institute Of New Jersey City University

The reflective research report is based on the study of Application Documents for Establishing Confucius Institute of New Jersey City University and the corresponding Chinese-English translation practice. The Application Documents are used for Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages and New Jersey City University to establish Confucius Institute at New Jersey City University in order to promote the communication and development of the international relationship between the two universities.In the process of translation, the translator comes across some major problems, such as reproduction of foreign affairs texts style, translation of some special words and expression and long sentences, and finds some relevant solutions to solve them, such as free translation, use of official and polite words and expressions, reconstruction and division, etc.Based on the translation practice, this reflective research report, apart from introduction and conclusion, mainly consists of description of the translation task and process, an analysis of the source text and problems and solutions in the translation. The main part of the report is the fourth one, in which some major problems the translator comes across during the translation practice of the documents are illustrated and the relevant solutions are provided. The translator hopes this report can be of help for other translation learners who are willing to devote themselves to foreign affairs text translation.
