Su Shi is the representative of the highest achievement in literature during the Song Dynasty. Over 2700 poems written during his lifetime have been spread all over the world. The research of scholars in every dynasty on achievements of his poems is detailed and comprehensive, but studies for poems involving music are slightly insufficient. Actually, there is a considerable number of music poems with themes of playing guzheng, percussion of bell and chime stone and flute singing. These poems are not only the outstanding literary works, but also the precious music cultural heritage in ancient China.This article conducts a comprehensive analysis on his thoughts contained in his representative music poem “Ruoyan”. It reproducts his writing style of not sticking to one pattern and the enlightenment to modern music from four parts of the beauty of contents, forms, music creations and artist expression.Through the analysis of his esthetic thoughts in music, this article further highlights the ethics of art of ancient Chinese, which is called ”poor to protect themselves and economy in the world.”...
